I come from a time when the world seemed to move a bit slower, and life was simpler, filled with the melody of radio waves and the anticipation of landline calls. As the black-and-white days of Doordarshan transitioned into a colourful array of television channels. Witnessing the evolution of mobile phones into the smartphones we hold today, accompanied by the wonders of artificial intelligence, has been like watching time fly by on a bullet train. But don't mistake me for an ancient sage; I'm not that old. Yet, I've  managed to witness  these transformations firsthand, and it's left me with a deep appreciation for the simplicity of the past. Even as I marvel at the wonders of technology, there are moments when I find myself yearning for the warmth of simpler days. Those were  the times  when we didn't need a screen to tell us it was time to celebrate a friend's birthday, and evenings were spent in the company of loved ones, not smartphones. It's a sentime...

In the Shadows of Grief - Finding Light

Image
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal." In the dimly lit corners of our hearts, there exists a profound ache that only those who have experienced loss can truly comprehend. Losing a loved one is a journey that all of us will inevitably embark upon, yet it remains one of the most challenging paths we'll ever tread.  As I sit down to write these words, I am acutely aware of the weight they carry. Each letter, each sentence is infused with the memories of those who are no longer with us. And yet, I feel compelled to share my thoughts, and my experiences, in the hopes that they may offer solace to those who find themselves navigating this abyss of grief. Grief is a complex and often misunderstood emotion. It ebbs and flows like the tide, sometimes consuming us whole, and at other times receding into the background, only to resurface when we least expect it. It is a journey with no roadmap, no destination, and no timeline. It is a j...

Beneath the Stars: Gratitude for Life's Interwoven Relationships

As a fervent cosmophile, the allure of delving into the mysteries of the universe and its captivating constituents is a passion that courses through my very being. I carry a deep fascination for celestial bodies, with stars twinkling in my eyes and the moon holding a special place in my heart. And as I indulge in this cosmic wonder, my love for reading continues to blossom with every passing moment. It was on one such day, amidst the pages of knowledge, that I stumbled upon a profound utterance by the revered astronomer Carl Sagan:  “The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, it seems like an awful waste of space.”  What makes these words truly beautiful is the door they open to boundless possibilities. It is a natural inclination to be swept away by the contemplation of our insignificance when measured against the cosmos; yet, the true fascination lies in the prospect that within this cosmic sea, we encounter souls who evolve into indispensable threads of our existe...

Treasures

There are about 8.7 million estimated total number of species on Earth. The species about which I’m writing today is something we cannot ignore. Also, fortunately, we all have encountered this deadly creature. Yes, I said 'FORTUNATELY'. These creatures are termed “friends”.  Remember your first day of school? Friends are the ones who make those twelve years bearable. Some last within the walls of the school, while some stay forever but the treasure we all share for the lifetime is memories. Let’s travel down memory lane and take a look at this film. Remember distributing toffees to the whole class and keeping extra for your best friend. The time when four people either shared a single lunch of sticky Maggie or were found fighting in the school canteen. Ever been in punishment, standing outside the classroom with a moron standing beside you laughing? The discussion for the day of the function or class party started with bringing a bag and discussing what to bring for lunch. Th...

“Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.” – Anne Frank We can feel the truth hidden in these beautiful words more than anything else. In the current circumstances we all have seen our phones filled with some words like mental health , and depression . However, these words seem more common than any time before, we suddenly have grabbed attention for these words within past few days. Now that we are posting messages like “talk to me” or “I’m here for you”, let’s first talk about these eye catching words being posted on our social media stories. Let us confess that these trending words are not being used for the first time. They were used before, the difference is just that we have become more assiduous reader. We actually used words like depression as a synonym to stress. Whereas, depression coincides stress, there is a difference of really thin line between the two. At this time, we are just using the words without actually re...
