Beneath the Stars: Gratitude for Life's Interwoven Relationships
As a fervent cosmophile, the allure of delving into the mysteries of the universe and its captivating constituents is a passion that courses through my very being. I carry a deep fascination for celestial bodies, with stars twinkling in my eyes and the moon holding a special place in my heart. And as I indulge in this cosmic wonder, my love for reading continues to blossom with every passing moment. It was on one such day, amidst the pages of knowledge, that I stumbled upon a profound utterance by the revered astronomer Carl Sagan:
“The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, it seems like an awful waste of space.”
What makes these words truly beautiful is the door they open to boundless possibilities. It is a natural inclination to be swept away by the contemplation of our insignificance when measured against the cosmos; yet, the true fascination lies in the prospect that within this cosmic sea, we encounter souls who evolve into indispensable threads of our existence. In this grand theatre of existence, where galaxies dance and stars orchestrate their luminous ballet, what wondrous synchronicities align to weave the intricate fabric of human connections that become integral constellations in our personal galaxies?
They say that every person we encounter in life arrives with a purpose, whether as a cherished gift or a valuable lesson. In both scenarios, let's embrace gratitude for the companionship we're privileged to share. Reflecting deeply on this notion, I've come to appreciate the intricate dance of connections that shapes our lives. Our journey introduces us to an array of individuals, each weaving a unique thread into the fabric of our existence. Some grace our path as enduring blessings, becoming constants in our life's narrative. Others, though fleeting, leave an indelible mark, imprinting us with lessons and occasionally, unshakable insecurities. It's a reality we must acknowledge: while none can remain on this earthly stage indefinitely, only a rare few stand beside us until the curtain falls.
As we navigate the unpredictable world of human connections, we inevitably meet those who slip away more easily, like sand through our fingers. But it's those exceptional bonds that we desperately want to hold onto, hesitant to let them go. These are the connections that tug at our heartstrings the hardest, testing our strength when we have to say goodbye. The pain of separation is especially intense when we wish these bonds could withstand the test of time. Life often brings us that special person who showers us with unconditional love and caring support, like a reliable tree that never wavers. They become our guiding light during tough times, having gone through their own ups and downs, and inspire us to keep fighting even when life gets tough.
Then there are the brutally honest folks – their words might sting, but deep down, they mean well. These people play a vital role by pointing us in the right direction. Their no-nonsense approach to life keeps us grounded and reminds us of the importance of honesty. Next up, we have optimistic souls, radiating positivity and energy. Being around them makes life feel brighter and challenges seem less daunting. They're like a breath of fresh air, helping us see the good side of things.
Yet, as life unfolds, it's inevitable that thorns will emerge amidst the roses. There exist those who nurse jealousy toward your triumphs, individuals who embrace you in solace only to plunge a dagger into your back, and perpetual pessimists who can't help but fill the air with their discontent. These encounters, though disheartening, carry a silver lining. In meeting such souls, you're reminded that not all hearts beat in harmony with your own. This sobering realization acts as a shield, warding off future pain.
In these moments, find room within your heart for compassion, and stride forward with unwavering resolve. Extend a hand to help them glimpse the brilliance that life can offer, even in its most challenging facets. For in such exchanges, amidst the thorns, we uncover the wisdom and strength to embrace life's intricate tapestry in all its splendour.

As I said earlier, we cannot hold on to people forever, even after knowing this, the fear of losing people is real. Life is like a book and people are like chapters. We usually don’t leave the rest of the book when our favourite chapter ends, do we? It's a collection of chapters, some teeming with sadness, others brimming with joy, and a few exuding sheer excitement. However, if we hesitate to move forward, we deny ourselves the opportunity to discover the treasures hidden within the next chapter.
In the grand narrative of existence, we each assume the role of protagonist in our own story. Sometimes, we're mere side characters in the tales of others, yet that doesn't diminish our value. These seemingly secondary roles often play a pivotal part in shaping the main character's journey, influencing their growth in profound ways. In the case of our own story, It’s on us how we wish to narrate it.
It's an undeniable truth that life occasionally places obstacles in our path, particularly on those trying days when we stumble and our resolve falters. In such moments, we might liken ourselves to shooting stars, blazing across the sky to fulfil others' wishes, only to fade away in the process. Yet, consider the cosmic ballet – a deceased star, by dispersing heavy elements into space, contributes to the birth of new stars. Similarly, the phoenix, reborn from its own ashes, symbolizes the cyclical nature of transformation and renewal.
Why all this gibberish you ask? It's a tribute, an expression of gratitude to every soul that has graced my journey. From those who left me grappling with insecurities and trauma to those who stand steadfastly beside me, guiding my rebirth from the ashes, I hold gratitude in my heart for all. This mosaic of experiences moulds my journey of self-discovery, teaching me the art of acceptance and the capacity to find value even in adversity. Finding tranquillity amid life's upheavals isn't a simple or unwavering feat. Yet, knowing I possess something to contribute revitalizes my sense of self.
As an avid reader, I've vicariously inhabited countless lives through the characters I've encountered on the page. This gift has bestowed upon me the ability to empathize and understand others. More importantly, it has armed me with the resilience to navigate life's valleys and savour its peaks with unwavering curiosity. Wrapping up this random blog I've written after a break of around three years, I'm just really glad to be back.
